In modern industrial flooring construction, boom-mounted laser screeds, with their 360° rotating body and long-range telescopic arms, achieve a highly efficient "machine stationary, arm moving" construction mode. To operate this "giant" arm effectively, operators need to master the following four core movements:
Telescoping:
Telescoping is the primary movement during construction. Using hydraulic handles in the cab, the operator can control the arm to extend forward (typically up to 6 meters or even further).
Technique: During construction, first fully extend the arm to the area to be paved, then, in conjunction with the screed head, slowly retract it from a distance.
Horizontal Rotation (Slewing)
The machine body can rotate the boom 360° without dead angles.
Application: This allows the machine to cover an area of hundreds of square meters after a single stop and positioning, greatly reducing the disturbance to the substrate caused by frequent equipment movements.
Head Swing (Swing): In some high-end models (such as the Huaang laser screed machine), the screed head can also swing ±45° relative to the boom to handle irregular areas such as corners and around columns.
The boom of the boom-type laser screed is not only an extension of "power" but also a carrier of "precision." Through the micron-level response of high-performance hydraulic systems such as Danfoss, operators can manipulate this massive metal boom, several meters long, with the dexterity of a human arm, controlling the floor precision error to within 2mm.
